2nd - Would you believe a horse chestnut hiding at the back of the garden? The Aquilegias are flowering nicely.
2nd - Poppy before emergence, some Hawthorn and red Clover (good reason not to cut that bit of grass...)
2nd - Some Buttercups, Clematis and potential strawberries.
8th - Relaxing in the sun while Black-headed Gull is on patrol. Swift appears to be preening whilst in flight.
8th - I do like the Aquilegia - the yellow is so delicate. Foxgloves starting to appear.
8th - One Clematis has finished flowering - the Honeysuckle may start to flower soon. The Snakeshead fritillaries seed heads are ripening nicely.
8th - Some Funghi lurking in the undergrowth while Broad leaved heliborines appear in random locations. Yellow-rattle starting to develop seed pods.
8th - Some nice darker colours - good to see the Northern marsh orchids flowering.
8th - Rosemary is not looking as happy as last year while the Hostas have shot up and even a flower spike appearing.
8th - Dublin Bay - a climbing rose - is looking good and some new growth on the Holly.
9th - Love the colour of these Poppies. One day I may eat this (potential) apple!
9th - White Clematis way up the tree and a white Foxglove.
11th - Perhaps the Fuschia is not dead after all? Pink blossom on the Hawthorn.
11th - The Iris is a good splash of colour while the Poppy slowly emerges.
12th - Another Aquilegia - the first toad I have seen in the garden and the insects are enjoying the sun.
12th - Close up of red damselfly.
19th - Insects enjoying the Foxgloves and Poppy.
19th - Fritillary seed heads are opening - hope I get more of them next year. The Wisteria is beginning to climb while the Leaping Salmon rose has three buds.
19th - More Broad leaved heliborines while I am keeping a close watch on the apples. A recent gift of Northern marsh orchids are flowering.
19th - The white Poppy has finally emerged. Lot's of flower stalks now on the Hostas.
19th - Almost a riot of colour whilst the pink Poppies look good - even the insects think so!
19th - First sings of a Globe Thistle flower this year.
19th - First water lily of the year and a similar coloured rose.
20th - More views of the sole water lily.
20th - Another poppy about to open and a poppy being used by the insects.
20th - The fine weather has brought out some more insects.
20th - Think these must be late toad tadpoles?
22nd - A very relaxed juvenile Wood-pigeon. Love the detail on the Iris.
28th - Flies and damselflies - an immature azure (I think!) female.
28th - Toad tadpole and pond insect.
28th - Start of a bracket fungus and snakeshead fritillary seed head ready to open.
28th First glimpses of the "Leaping Salmon" rose and the white Hosta is starting to flower.
30th - Another lovely lily and I had kept walking past the lavender!
30th - Love the roses at this time of year - the deep orange "fellowship" looks great.
30th - More Hostas about to flower and no idea what the fly is.
